Site-wide meta board >>>/z/

Sup nignogs, welcome back to /v/

1. ALL global rules apply, please read them at
2. /v/ is a video game related board, keep your topics video game pertinent.
3. You must be 18+ to post.
4. Duplicate threads about the same topic will be locked and then deleted, check the catalog before making a new thread.
5. This is not a SFW board, NSFW content is allowed, just spoil it.

Additional stipulations:
a. Effortless threads and template threads will be met with ridicule and may be bumplocked. Put some effort when making a new thread.
b. Some off topic discussion is allowed, use your common sense and and try not to fill an entire thread dedicated to an entirely different topic with it.
c. If you get reported multiple times across multiple threads and your post history comprises entirely of derailing, shitflinging, and generally not contributing to any of the threads you posted in, you will be banned and your post history may be wiped.
d. Rolling for dubs in shit threads is allowed; this however won't grant you a free "get out of jail" card. If you alone get a number of reports because of it and/or are caught shitting up seemingly fine threads, actions may be taken based on your post history.
e. No one likes attention whores: namefagging and/or avatarfagging for no practical reason is frowned upon. If you are caught doing either repeatedly you may be banned.
f. Ban lengths are entirely dependent on which and how many rules you broke. (eg: cheese pizza grants a global perma)

If needed I can also be contacted privately at this address:

This will also double as a board meta thread, voice complaints, report issues, call jannies cocksuckers, keep drama OUT.
This thread is about characters that are not afraid to show off their sex appeal.
Post the hottest characters.

I was surprised when Gust made Reisalin to look hot. Don't get me wrong, the other MCs are good looking too but they come off more cute than sexy.
Etrain Odyssey thread.

>But what is it?
Etrain Odyssey is a series of dungeon crawlers that started off on the DS continuing up until the 3ds and has since gotten an installment on the bing bing wahoo machine itself. Like other blobbers and dungeon crawlers you create a party yourself choosing from a variety of classes that change with each game with a few exceptions. Apparently there are side games that are more story focused that give you a set party but I never really heard much good things about those. The games are each their own stories so you don't need to play the others to understand what is going on.

>Sounds neat tell me more
The game works similar to other dungeon crawlers where you create your own team from the classes they provide. The classes mostly change between the games which a few exceptions that I wont go into. The dungeon itself is a first person grid base movement with the automap only filling in the floor you walk across. You will need to manually fill in the rest of the map yourself and you will want to with all the gathering spots and shortcuts that are around. Three introduces an entire ocean for you to explore that is a bit of a puzzle in itself. You only get so many turns to move and have to navigate around all the ocean hazards to reconnect trade routes. I heard the other games have done things similar to this. Its a great way to break up the dungeon gameplay and is a welcome addition.

5 characters per team with a front row and back with a maximum of three in a row. Normally you get shit damage from the back with a melee weapon but some classes and weapons have ways around this such as firearms, bows, spears, ect. Understanding the monsters is important to not getting shit stomped in the dungeon. Some attacks have a binding feature that bind a certain body part. So if that giant bird does a bite attack binding his head is probably a good idea. This also works in reverse for you, if your feet are bound you probably aren't going to be doing much running from an encounter. The encounters are random but you get an idea of when you are about to get into one via a glowing orb that changes from green to red. Then there are F.O.Es which are field bosses. Some patrol a set path and some chase you if you are close and all usually will kick your ass if its your first time in the area so plan around them and mind getting into encounters while on their path because turns are still passing on the field and the FOE is still coming.

This was longer than I thought it was going to be and I am by no means an expert at the game. I had started 1 and played for a bit, skipped to 2, then finally settled on three. I have heard anons say that its pretty much the best one and it really is a massive step up from the first 2 installments. Emulated the series on a whim and I have really enjoyed my time with it. It can be hard and fucking up your build is possible but that game is relatively forgiving with rerolls so don't worry about making mistakes.
How do you make a good FPS boss?
This question has puzzled me and I feel like its impossible. I had fun with the ones in Metroid prime but I feel like prime gets a pass. More recent games I can think of with bosses are shit like destiny which are just HP sponges with some addons that spawn in during the fight.
Then I think of something like Lost Planet that while being a shooter still had bosses that are fun so whats missing here?
Is shoot the glowing thing the peak of fps boss gameplay or am I missing something here?
It seems Evo won't be canceled in a couple months despite Corona-chan infecting the world.

>My column in next week’s issue of Famitsu is crazy. I got a huge scoop… It’s a world premiere article. And an exclusive. It may not be Nikkei or Weekly Bunshun, but if you want to know if it’s a scoop that big…it totally is! It’s a scoop from a game company that everyone loves. An insane scoop. Last year, Wired got the exclusive story on PlayStation 5, right? Other media didn’t. It’s that level of a scoop. I interviewed a certain company’s executive and technical staff, it’s really revolutionary… really, it’s a revolution.

>It’ll be in Famitsu next Thursday. I already sent in my manuscript, so the proofs are being made now. It’s a scoop on a level that when the story comes out, other media will make a fuss to the company like, “Why didn’t you let us cover it?” Maybe people will say, “Who was the first to break that story?,” “It was Zenji Nishikawa, right?” It’s a scoop as major as the PlayStation 5 scoop. I just wanted to say that in advance.

>I can’t say [anything more] here, but it’s OK for me to tease it (laughs). I was told that it’s OK to do so at various meetings. It’s being talked about in other places. Just not by the media. It’ll rile up the games industry.

This is what tech journalist Zenji Nishikawa had to say about the SEGA announcement happening in a few days time. What do you guys think it will be? Some rumors that have been floating around (some more outlandish than others):

>Microsoft / Nintendo / Sony is purchasing SEGA.
>SEGA will be entering an exclusivity deal with Microsoft / Nintendo / Sony
>SEGA back catalogue is coming to XBOX Game Pass
>SEGA will be entering an exclusivity deal with Sony
>XBOX Series X will be branded as the SEGA Series X in Japan
>Sonic Adventure is being remastered / remade
>Sonic Adventure 3 / Jet Set Radio 2
>New "mini" console, Dreamcast mini or similar
>SEGA game streaming service (like Stadia)
>SEGA will be releasing their own new console

Which if these if any would you want to happen?
The full version of the latest issue of Official PlayStation Magazine UK is available from ISSU, and includes a list of confirmed PS5 games and relative release dates.
The magazine can't be downloaded through ISSU, but you can use to get a local copy (it weighs 200 MB, so I can't upload it here directly).

Pics related, the listed games.
Let's talk about Suda51's Kill The Past series, that includes:
>The Silver Case
>Flower, Sun, and Rain
>The 25th Ward
>No More Heroes 1, 2 and Travis Strikes Again
Or any Grasshopper game if you want.
Lets talk giant robot games in all their varied forms. I haven't played that new one Daemon X Machina, I heard mixed reviews.
What I might start playing is Armored Core Nexus, I had downloaded it a while ago but haven't picked it up but I've started to get a hankering for some AC. I also picked up a copy of the Last Raven for cheap so I figure I should start working my way toward it.
Mechwarrior 5 was shit UNSURPRISINGLY, I pirated it a while back and everything about it was just so very eh. Oh and more of it is procedural generated, but hey the map changes based on the year so thats kinda neat. The enemies spawn when you touch certain areas on the generated map, the issue was that they would spawn right on top of you. Thats the reason the radar doesn't work in the game, because then you would see the enemies pop in behind the building. Once in a while everything would come together and it would be fun but that was few and far between, I ended up deleting it, everything sucked about it. Maybe mods will fix if I hope down the line.
I got back into MegaMek which is the battletech tabletop games shoved into Java. It has a campaign mode and I have to say is pretty fun as just like the tabletop you run the entire gambit of combined arms. Then there are all the rules from some 20 year+ books meaning you can tailor the game to how you want from engine exploding to hot dropping. Very neat, but can be a bit daunting to stet up a campaign. If anyone is interested I'll drop the set up PDF that can walk you through it. The dice are really cruel to both you and the enemy. I have had a through armor crit on the second turn that blew up my assault mech to watching as an exploding enemy mech's blast hit its allies in turn also causing them to explode blowing up half their team.

What do you love/what have you been playing?
The fifth shantae game, now with some cutscenes animated by TRIGGER throughout the game.
What's this all about?
Fullderp is an international mutual aid fellowship with the stated purpose of enabling its members to "have fun on an online competitive Pokémon battling simulator". Fullderp is nonprofessional, self-supporting and apolitical. Its only membership requirement is a desire to have fun. The Fullderp program of entertainment is set forth in the Twelve Steps.

How does it work?
After the current champ calls "new champ", the first anon to claim the title is our champ. He uses the first six legal Pokémon suggested after his claim as his team. Champ can also call "new team" when the old one became stale (rule of thumb: 40-60 minutes). Champ plays in Gen 8 Natdex OU unless specified otherwise.
Absolutely no experience is necessary and everything is done in-browser.

1. Champ can't forfeit, intentionally throw a match, or timer stall.
2. Champ may not edit a set without the suggester's permission.
3. All Pokémon must be nicknamed. If the sugg didn't have a name, champ makes one up.
4. Don't suggest twice, unless your last sugg was 15 minutes ago or champ explicitly asked for resuggs.
4. Champ should replace resuggs with fresh suggestions that come in later.
5. Don't spam the catalog with threads.

Games that are lewd but aren't porn, and are actually good in terms of mechanics, combat, and story?
• Every week you can fill a slot with one character per ID. All but six of these slots must be filled by videogame characters. All slots are filled on a first-come-first-serve basis.
• If a character or character(s) has been nominated three times in a row, (Even within the same mania) it is not eligible for nomination for 2 more manias. You can find a list of nominations in the most recent mania article on the 8chanmania wiki.
What counts as a “videogame character”?
   	- Any character who you can access and originated in a “videogame” without using any form of character creator; this includes characters that must be accessed via a character creator but have a ‘default appearance’ that you do not have to personalize to proceed.
   	- If a character can be accessed in a “videogame” but did not originate in a “videogame”, it must have had a substantial role in at least 5 games to qualify for a “videogame character” slot OR known almost exclusively for their videogame appearances. The first would be Goku and the second would be Pepsiman.
   	- “Video game” includes only actual video games. This does not include “choose your own adventure” visual novels, but it can include visual novels with substantial game components, such as “Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney”.
• Shitnom Clause: Unimportant real-life or virtual persons are not valid for nomination, even in a non-videogames slot. This means that you cannot nominate a person in chat, including and especially TNAanon, who is the host. This does not apply to notable public figures or characters that could pose an interesting plot.
• Endless Battle Clause: This is a tournament and every fighter must play to win. Deliberately stalling out a match will not be tolerated unless it produces a roughly fifty-percent win-rate in the lowest amount of time necessary to do so as a valid strategy. Edits that are found to stall matches ineffectually will be edited.
•GrandFather Clause: If a character starts as vidya or non vidya, they will stay in their designated category, regardless of any character arcs created within 8chanmania.

There's only so many fucking times I can replay the old games before getting sick of them. There isn't a single god damn upcoming game that I'm even 0,01% interested in. And it doesn't even look like something will change. EA won't ever deliver fun shooters ever again, activision won't deliver a good CoD ever again, the stealth genre is on suicide watch because all we get is Hitman which is the exact fucking same every time, RTT genre is also dead, even the fucking MoW "sequel" is a retarded free2play mobileshit spinoff. There isn't a single medieval game I'm interested in, unless fromsoftware delivers, and they probably won't because their upcoming game looks like even more fantasy crap instead of gritty medieval europe, and, overall, everything has fucking stagnated.

Rant over, I guess. I apologise if this thread looks like a shitty cuckchan template.

>what the fuck is this A jap roguelike with an overworld, no permadeath, has a bunch of sandbox elements. Its tough to nail down. Can be played a ton of different ways like being a farmer who grows crops and magical items, a piano player who gets stoned to death for being a bad musician, a valiant warrior who breaths fire, a magical caster who can nuke the entire map and then explode from overcasting, or just be charismatic as fuck and get lots of pets. It can be a bit challenging at first but the game is much nicer to new players then it used to be. There is a main story to follow across 3 acts but you are never rushed.

>That sounds neat, where can I get a download? This is a paste bin lovingly stolen borrowed, contains links for all of the downloads. You will want the base game Elona+. Now be aware that there is a mod called custom that adds on translation fixes and quality of life addons. The issue is that it is currently no longer updated for now hopefully. The current elona+ version is 1.98 while custom is still on 1.94.Then there is custom-g which is an add-on to your add-on. Stacks on custom and adds more QoL features. In the pastebin there is a full pack that contains all 3 of the downloads known as the easy set up. There is one pack with mods and one without. Check them both out and see if modded or unmodded suits you. Most of it is graphical mods. Installing is easy, extract the base game, then extract custom to the directory, then extract custom-g over that.

>Elona Omake Overhaul Another offshoot of Elona made by some nerd. I haven't played a ton but was much more difficult due to being based on older Elona difficulty. Their are perks to become a better whore though so money is never far away as long as you have loose morals. I haven't kept up with it and it only includes the first act but it can be something different if you want more elona. It has a lot of new features like factions, The Knights of the LittleGirls and a qt rival you can fuck. Worth checking out.

>story is kinda good tbh, does not tack on too much and is revealed at a proper pace
>can skip cutscenes if you want to
>fights are too easy, don't have to care about enemy weaknesses
>hard mode is not actually hard
>money is effectively unlimited; not that you need to buy much except for the last few bosses
>for most of the game's story, you end up doing the bidding of the bad guys thanks to the faerie's sage advice
>despite all the technical advancements, not much depth to the combat system (can still spam spells almost freely, etc)
>NG+ is available, but I kind of am not compelled to do it - even if I could try different party combinations, etc. I just don't feel like it would be too rewarding.

I'll log on around 6:00PM EST, but feel free to make a room ahead of time although it could be sooner depending on my schedule. Keep an eye on the thread and feel free to make a room sooner.
Most of the time anons will tag out with hosting which is fine, the only thing to remember is if you get host you cannot pass it maually and have to leave the room if you don't want it. If you DO host remember, you need to set the password every time you change a map.

How to set up:
Just run the executable and it'll do its thing. Once you're in you can choose a username and password and then you'll be set.
See pic related for a guide on what to equip. Play some tutorials, there's one general tutorial (on the lobby page), and a tutorial for each weapon class (in the shop).

How do I play it

S4 League is a weaboo arena third-person-shooter with gimmicks. Mechanics are fairly straightforward run, jump, and shoot.
The only unusual mechanic is wall jumping. It's essential for moving quickly, and you'll get used to it with practice.
It is important to note that you can control the angle of your wall jump with the camera. It's strange but get used to it.
There are three specific game modes that we'll be playing:

>Battle Royale: Just kill people.
>Deathmatch: Just kill people but ignore half of them.
>Touchdown: The real game. Sportsball with guns.

The rules for touchdown aren't too complicated, it's just like an ordinary sport with a ball and a goal.
Here's a handy set of instructions for what you should be doing.

Guide to Offense:
>Step 1: Get the ball.
>Step 2: Run behind enemy lines.
>Step 3: Don't get killed. (Otherwise goto 1)
>Step 4: Score in the opponent's goal.

Guide to Defense:
>Step 1. Just kill people.

But specifically kill the person who has the ball.
They will have a giant beam of light over their head.
Use that to keep an eye on how much of a threat they are.

In the event that max inevitably shits itself we shall be playing on the the remnants server:

I don't have a link to the .wad files. If someone has a link to all of them handy post it and I'll ask BO to edit them into the OP when tom implements post editing.
I'll start with this.

Excellent work, Snake.

What are some games that are praised to high heaven, but in actuality suck fucking balls? Let's discuss their flaws in detail. I can't think of a more relevant game than Dead Rising. Normalfags and critics sucked this game off endlessly, and it was somehow successful enough to spawn a franchise, yet it's a total train wreck and one of the most god awful games I've ever, ever fucking played. I was unfamiliar with this game going into it. All I knew about it was it was another Capcom game about zombies that eluded me because it was a Microsoft exclusive. I thought it would be a survival horror or something. It's Capcom, they know zombies. They couldn't possibly fuck this up, right? Oh God. How wrong I was. First of all, the game is not a survival horror, it's a shitty fucking beat 'em up. Maybe the shittiest fucking beat 'em up ever fucking made, EVER. You see, for the vast majority of the game, there is nothing to fight but weak, basic bitch zombies, and there are hordes of hundreds of them everywhere. Anytime you try to do something, they get in the goddamn way. They aren't fun or challenging to fight, just obnoxiously boring, repetitive, and tedious. There are plenty of items to pick up and use, like most beat 'em ups, but in this game 95% of them are complete trash to the point of being nearly useless. About the only weapons that work any good are bats, knives, and blades (axe and katana), and chainsaws. There are also guns in the game, but they're fucking terrible, slow, and clunky to use, and you can't even move while shooting. It's so awful, guns are more effective in Yakuza, even though guns suck in Yakuza. Anyway, the axe and katana will kill zombies in one hit and are pretty good, but run out quickly (all items break after a c), so what I ended up using for most of this god awful game was the small chainsaw. There's a whole lot of mashing x in this game. It would be shitty and repetitive enough already just because of that, but that's not the half of it. They made the motherfucking map motherfucking MMO huge, while Frank moves slow as fuck. The first mission of the game forces you to run across a fucking boring park that's mostly empty for almost 30 seconds just to get to the other fucking door to get to your objective. And you frequently have to make that run over and over throughout the game. MMOs make up for this shit by having mounts. No such luck here.

You with me. So shitty repetitive brawler gameplay with the same basic enemies, MMO huge map that wastes your time with lots of empty space, but wait, it's split into a few zones, and whenever you zone in or out, every single one of the goddamn enemies respawn. Sound like a shitty stinker? Well, you don't know the half of it. The worst part is that the entire game consists of events that only occur at a set time and must be completed within a certain time frame or they're failed and lost forever, causing you to miss out on the content permanently. If you're not at the right place at the right time for the main quest, you can lose the game. But anyway, most of that content, consists of babysitting brain dead NPCs through horrible NPC escort quests. These will make you pine for the days of MMO npc escort quests. Dead Rising features the most retarded npcs in video game history, hands down. They go out of their way to run into enemies and waste the clock even when you clear a whole fucking path for them. They jump in front of you from off camera to get themselves killed while you're fighting. They run into obstacles and get stuck running in place, or even bump into each other and get stuck in a ball until you push them. If you give them weapons, they're likely to hit you or each other by mistake. It's a fucking nightmare guiding them across a MMO huge map WHILE being pressured by the fucking event timers (displayed as colored bars on your screen) ticking down at the same time 'cause you know you're gonna have to reload if the NPC AI fucks you.

You know how I said you move slow as fuck? Well, they move even slower. Some of the NPCs have a limp, or will freeze up every 10 seconds or so to take a break, like this fucking old hag I escorted all the way across the goddamn map to the elevator only to have the old bitch commit suicide by jumping in front of me while I was clearing out the last zombies. Absolutely rage inducing. Also infuriating that you
often fail and miss timers, even though it looked like you had ample time, just because of the retarded fucking npcs. It forced me to reload the game several times because it looked like I had plenty of time to get shit done, when in reality the brain dead npcs make it impossible to do everything at once, so I often had to reload and pick and choose certain tasks while ignoring others only after finding out the hard way that there wasn't enough time to cut it. Sometimes, you're damned if you do, damned if you don't. There was this fat dyke cop with hookers held hostage that you're supposed to save, but there's also these two fuckheads hanging from a statue suspended above a swarm of zombies. If you save those two, and then go into the boss fight, the fucking idiots run into the boss and get themselves killed. So what I did was escort those faggots slowly all the way back to the security room, only to return to the boss and find out THE FUCKING BITCH KILLED 3/4 OF THE HOOKERS IN THE MEANTIME because of the extra time I took taking the two fuckheads back to safety. This shit drives me absolutely nuts. Fuck the strict time management aspect of this game.
Truly stealth is the deadest genre. Worse even than the state of RTS. At least we have The Dark Mod and custom Thief levels. A reminder to try out Deadly Shadows with the fanpatch if you've skipped it so far, it's decent but consolised.
This can be a thread for general discussion of these games (Ghost93, Hack9, Hacker9, you get the idea), but more specifically, I have a question that I haven't been able to find the answer for myself, though I'll admit this could be due to my own failings in searching. Basically, I'm really digging the soundtrack in these games--great ambient music, sometimes emotional, sometimes engaging action tracks, the works. However, I haven't been able to find any soundtrack rips online for any of the games, whether it be through scouring the creator's website and twitter, or trying to find the composer's information. I thought it might be more expedient to cut out the middle man and extract the audio myself, but being the autist that I am, I can't for the life of me figure out how to do that aside from straight up recording the audio output of my computer with Audacity, which I figure has got to be the most tedious way of getting what I want--not to mention, this method is limited by what music I have access to based on in-game progress, as well as trying to record without mob sound effects tampering with my efforts. In other words, if anyone has any info on the soundtracks for any of these games or how to access them myself, I'd be incredibly grateful for your help. Sorry if this got a little too long or spoonfeed-y, but anyway, here's your obscure 2d platforming game thread you didn't ask for.
>Monster Hunter on the PSP? I don't have one of those!
Fortunately, PSP emulation is fantastic, being able to run easily even on smartphones. With a little know-how, you should also be able to get multiplayer working.

>My computer is pretty shitty. I don't know if I can ru-
You can run PPSSPP.

>So what do I need then?
All you need is a computer, PPSSPP, the linked ISO, a gamepad preferably, and access to your router. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO YOUR ROUTER THEN IT'S VERY LIKELY YOU WILL BE UNABLE TO PLAY.

>Why Portable 3rd?
Portable 3rd is good for beginners as its a little less clunky, far prettier, and has some quality of life changes to make organization and management easier. If you do start with this and can't read Japanese, though, you will be wanting to check the wiki for and asking for help in this thread to explain certain things. It only has a partial English translation. Its pretty good though.

A more detailed explanation is at, just ignore the stuff about coldbird. Here's a more compressed explanation:
The default settings in the most recent release of PPSSPP should be enough, but just make sure that you have networking enabled, the ad hoc server is, port offset is zero, and that the virtual MAC address has been randomized, which you can do by clicking on it a few times. PPSSPP should also have a firewall exemption.
The more challenging aspect is that you will most likely have to configure your router for the online component to work, but it's still fairly easy to get working. You'll have to log into your router, which can be done by putting into your browser. You'll want to forward UDP port 10000 and TCP ports 20001 to 20004 to whatever internal IP address is assigned to your computer using the port forwarding function.
The only option within the game itself is whether you manually or automatically select the room you want to join. Set this to manual, which it should be by default.

>why rot13?
Prevents web crawlers from taking down the uploads. Just go on the internet put this into a rot13 cipher. Its the last part of a mega address so just replace the part after the
With what it spits out after you decode it. I checked the downloads and they are up.
PPSSPP (most recent release):
Portable 3rd HD Version (ROT13): #S!OfANKnNO!RAjoG7NaOM5D-FW4ngV7Qt
PSID Files (ROT13): #S!41juQWOP!brTPhiuGV2N3j3f5-g2h6N
You may not need these PSID files but they are here for completeness.

>X can host, but I cant!
You probably didn't forward your ports correctly. Check 'em.

>I used to be able to connect, but now I can't!
Check what internal IP address is assigned to your computer. If you are port forwarding and your router reset, it may have reassigned you a different one.

>I loaded a savestate and now I can't get back in!
Restart the emulator.

>I can't connect at all!
Work with the others in the room to see where the snag is. The games works by daisychaining connections through each host so someone may be dropping connections.

>I can't get Portable 3rd to start!
It's an anti-piracy measure I think, so you might need to drop these PSID files in you PAUTH folder, which is under memstick in your PPSSPP directory. I don't know which one decodes P3rd, but you can just dump everything in. I don't recall seeing this issue much.

>I have Portable 3rd, but I can't play with others!
Make sure you use the version I have linked. This is a special version that uses PS3 assets and can't be found anywhere else reasonably.

>I can't choose which room I want to join!
Go into the options and change it from Automatic to Manual.

>making the game looks nicer.
In Postprocessing, turning on natural colors will making things look much more vivid. You should also check out texture scaling and slam that to the highest.

When we had played we ended up using a cytube room so its up to anons to decide where they want to go if they want to communicate, or not as stomping angrily or clapping at failure is a fairly good communication tool.
This might seem mega autistic but I need games I can play while I play a braindead mmo (runescape) I know I can't be the only one that does this.

pic related is what i'm doing right now.
Which ones have you been playing? Which ones do you suggest anons try out? Personally FlareRPG's The Empyrean Campaign was a huge hidden gem for me.

Trailer dropped today, includes a Metroid teaser?
What are you crawling? As I said in the wiped /vg/ thread I've mostly played Nethack in the past but am recently trying out Brogue. I've been thinking about getting into Crawl for a long time but the reports of them constantly removing features dissuaded me. In the last thread someone mentioned trying 0.9, from before they started stripping out stuff, another later version I don't remember from before they started stripping out the major stuff, or the Extra Hearty Edition fork that sought to preserve features while adding updates, but unfortunately hasn't been updated in 7 years and now requires a bunch of fiddling just to compile.
What do you think of the new technology from UE5? It is speculated that assets for future games made in UE5 will be massive because of confirmed 8k textures and models being millions of triangles.

Specifically the single statue model from the trailer, even with heavy compression, can be as large as ~1GB (33M tris, lossless at runtime, 2x 8k DXT5 compression for PBR). This translates to maps and games potentially reaching hundreds of GB in download size. In the Sony development panel, it was verified that the PS5's SSD is optimized for these massive workloads. Patches and updates could be dozens of GB large as well now.

AI and raytracing might be shilled far more now that it is slowly snuggling into the laps of AAA developers. Do you think there will be actual uses for AI or will it remain a tool for production? (Asset preparation, texture composition, denoising, etc.)

Why is it that every time we improve technology and take 2 steps forward, we become complacent and take 3 steps backward?
Alright faggots its time for an EDF thread. I know we had one back on fat/v/ and that was pretty good so lets do it again.
Whats your favorite...

I like the levels of 4 better but 5 had so much good shit its hard to choose. I would ultimately choose 5 I think.
Favorite gun is the vulcan hammer and the giant shotgun for fencer. The hammer takes some getting used to but its strong and the shotgun is great for deleting bugs in small places.
I'm going to be honest, I just finished a 100% pokedex run on Pokemon Clover and it was far better than anything coming out of cuckchan has any right to be. I went in completely blind and it was incredible. For a game full of fakemon it's shocking how few were outright terrible, the majority are either funny or unironically well-designed (Clovenix comes to mind, but so do Praestish and Elephas as well). The experience system made grinding up new team members incredibly easy while not allowing you to steamroll gyms by over leveling. Almost all notable trainer AIs were competent and their team had an actual coherent strategy (I can only remember one AI fucking up by spamming Shell Smash constantly while I used Snatch repeatedly). The story never takes itself too seriously while still being perfectly in line with the type of tone pokemon games try to maintain. For competitive autism there's also an area postgame for grinding EVs and even adjusting IVs with the right items. Game was indeed not perfect though.

As with any game relying on "meme culture" references, yes, some of the jokes were a bit stale. I can forgive this though because it's pretty obvious from the beginning that most of the game is and is based on being a reference so it's to be expected. Some of the postgame areas were just tedious to traverse to, only two particular come to mind, but it was noticeable just how hard it is to go to and from these areas. The game still isn't finished so there's still some bugged out areas. There's one sideplot near the end of the postgame area that has a bug where NPCs you are supposed to interact with are in two places at the same time, if you talk to the wrong one it doesn't progress the mission, and nothing indicates you were supposed to go somewhere else.
The ingame battle frontier is closed for now due to a glitch, which is pretty sad as with there actually being an easy place to grind and ev train I would be excited to try and win a battle frontier legitimately for once. There's a stealth section of the game that has pretty poor controls, but it's barely noticeable.

All in all it was incredibly fun and I was wondering if there are any other pokemon games that manage to balance the difficulty so that a run is interesting, but doesn't require me to read a wiki, team building before every major encounter just to counter some extreme meta bullshit.

I'd also be interested in hearing about romhacks for games other than Pokemon, though I know they're rare. I have no clue about what any of those look like and this place is as good as any to ask.
I've been playing Sonic Adventure games series and man I was hocked.
I liked sonic before and his games were my childhood but these days there isn't a great sonic game and what happened to the tone of Sonic back then he was cool guy with an attitude but now he's just a fucking memeand not just sonic too they butchered many characters especially Tails.
In the adventure games he was a clumsy kid who relayed to much on sonic but he hated that fact so he tried to change himself to be more courageous and more useful but in the modern games he's useless and annoying, and don't forget Eggman that guy was an actual threatening villain who had some badass moments in the adventure series but now he's just a shitty comic relief character.
I could go on and on about how they ruined every character in the sonic series and how the Sonic Team plays too much safe but I think you probably know that so let's discuss which is your favorite game and why.
>Favorite game
Sonic 3 is my favorite in the series, the level design is so great, the powerups are nice and the music is top tier
>Favorite OST's
Sonic Adventure 1 for me has the best OST just because it has jazz
>Favorite Character
Tails not because of a certain comic

>PlayStation adventure The Last of Us Part 2 seems to have been blocked from release in multiple Middle Eastern countries.

>The game is due to launch globally on June 19, but currently does not appear among the listings for the Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates versions of the PlayStation Store.

>One Reddit user, spotted by VG247, reports that PlayStation Support said any game that does not appear in a regional store has been "banned by the competent authorities of the country and we can not do anything regarding that."

>No reason for the ban has emerged yet, although it's most likely due to either the nudity and sexual content mentioned in the ESRB rating -- as can be seen on the official website -- or the LGBT themes that often lead to entertainment products being banned in the region.

Funny how Soyny and Naughty Poz tries to pander to the mudslides to show how WOKE they are, only for their shit to get banned in the Middle East.
When will SJWs realize that they don't like gays?
I recently got a PSP and GBA SP for dirt cheap, and I'm looking for some actual good games to play on these two pieces of shit. Right now I've got Pokemon Leaf Green, Pokemon Ruby, Metroid Zero Mission and Metroid Fusion for the GBA and Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters, Secret Agent Clank, God of War:Ghost of Sparta, Medievil and Daxter for the PSP.
Right now the only game I've actually really liked is Metroid: Zero Mission, none of the PSP games except for maybe Medievil are doing anything for me. So,

Post things you remember vaguely but want to play again.

First request, can someone remember a mecha game?
Its a very well detailed game(At least, as far as I remember it) where you're in a mecha and you're wrecking down buildings. Enemies try to take you down, it becomes harder with time.

With funding set to hit $300 million soon the dream of a hyper-realistic sci-fi FPSMMORPGBBQ has never been closer, the new gamemode Threatres of War is also in a very good state and already more lethal than CoD ever was.
There may be some occurences of items permanently disappearing from player inventories upon logging in but don't let such simple FUD detract yourself from pledging towards the dream, though be aware that the game requires 32GB RAM and an RTX 2080 to run at 15+ fps as it's a proper PC exclusive unlike all the console kiddie multiplats force fed to the unenlightened masses by greedy publishers these days.

To recap:

>new jpegs like the Carrack have also been added but they've been cutting more and more corners in order to keep the game from CTD'ing or hardfreezing rigs all the time
>latest patch adds Theatres of War gamemode to keep the goyim entertained as roadmaps are reworked to remove more and more promised features
>ToW is a Battlefield clone with vehicles, fidelity and world class netcode+client performance
>performance is down to single digits again, bugs galore as the game engine is nearing its breaking point from Chris' code whispering
>Backers are starting to grow restless after seeing items disappear from their inventories and characters, their numbers are too great for the CIG forum mods to handle so they've resorted to counter-upboating loyal shills
>Remaining whales and backer faithful are pouring all their Trumpbux into the game keeping CIG afloat as they aim for getting SQ42 out of the door by 2022
Splatfest Alert!

A Splatfest has been announced in Splatoon 2 for this weekend. It will be a rerun of the first Splatfest after the game launched.
Which condiment do you prefer?
Mayonnaise vs Ketchup

Marina says some gross shit and gets a cooking lesson.

This is a 48-hour global Splatfest where scores across all three regions will be pooled into a single result, unlike the original Mayonnaise vs Ketchup.
You might remember that the last time this happened, Mayonnaise beat Ketchup in every region for three separately counted wins, but it was a different scoring system based off of win/loss ratio. Now we have some bullshit "Clout" system that softly punishes better players.

See you on the field, squid.
Recreating this after Fatchan died.
Now post some tasy food in games.
Playing games like Yakuza, FFXV I know its shit but the food looks tasty, and Persona 5 makes me want to try out these foods. Especially Yakuza, made me try out tonkotsu ramen and it was glorious.
>What is Snowrunner?
A game for autists, where you get in a truck and pretend to haul stuff, while you're stuck in the mud. Think Euro/Burger Truck Simulator, except often there are no fucking roads. It is a sequel to Mudrunner, which is a sequel to Spintires, but unlike those two, it's an actual game, instead of just a demo. To be more precise, to complete the game you have to complete contracts and tasks, which typically are about delivering a certain good or a particular object to the destination. It can be bricks, metal beams, giant semi-trailers, trucks and other stuff. Most of the challenge in the game is finding the least shit route between those two points and picking a truck that (hopefully) won't get stuck in the middle of it.

>How to get it?
Do you prefer Epic Games Store or Windows Store? The actual answer is magnet:?xt=urn:btih:102d0e06f284aa9179cd3f8d3405e96d9020edc7.

>How to skip early game hell?
See picture no. 2 for reference.
1. Do the tutorial, until you get to the garage (A) with your GMC.
2. Drag the Fleetstar that's near the garage into the garage zone, so you can put it inside and repair it. I don't remember if F2070A comes with both differential lock and all wheels drive available to mount, but if it doesn't, go to (B).
3. Get your Chevrolet into the garage as well, swap the tires for "all-terrain III", the ones that are okay for roads, offroad and good for mud.

At this point, you can theoretically progress on your own, since now you have the AWD and difflock combo, but a lack of offroad/mudtires for trucks is going to hurt. However, Russian offroad trucks available for sale since base rank come with AWD and difflock always on, making traversing harsh terrain even with suboptimal tyres possible.
4. (recommended) Travel to (C) and discover Scout 800 there. It's a much better scout than starting Chevrolet, which you can basically sell immediately afterwards. Scout 800 has a tendency to flip, though, so it's recommended you get an autonomous winch, which allows you to get back on your tyres without external help, so long trees are nearby.
5. Go to (D) and discover a Chevrolet truck there. Once you do, recover it and sell it immediately, it's a piece of shit without AWD drive (until you find it in Alaska).
6. Unlock Taymyr region. I don't actually know how to do that, it happened in the meantime, while I was playing. My guess is that you have to reach a certain rank.
7. Jump to a garage in Taymyr, then buy one of the three: Azov 64-131, Voron AE-4380 or Voron D-53233. Each one has AWD and difflock always on and enough power to breeze through most shit in Michigan.

Miscellanous tips:
>Buying and selling is 1:1, you never lose money in any transaction.
>Offroad gearbox gets low-, low+ and high gears. Low- is niche, but low+ allows you to use switchable difflock at higher speeds and high, while it doesn't allow you to use switchable difflock, prevents the truck from automatically shifting gears and losing speed in the process.
>There are various trailers and semitrailers scattered around the map, you can use them to make certain contracts or missions easier.
>If driving a scout or a light truck, go offroad, if the beaten truck is wet and muddy. Ground around it is drier and harder.
>Adding lights on a truck does actually make your lights brighter.
>Avoid snow.
>You can't attach trailers to a truck with a crane, but you can have a truck with a semitrailer and a crane.
>You can buy a trailer, refuel with it, repair your truck with it, then sell it immediately. This doesn't lose you any money.

It means nothing is going on right now, unless you want to play fallout 76(lol), in which case, they released the wastelanders update, which added in proper quests and NPCs, like they should have over a year ago(and even then, it would still be a subpar, mainstreamed fallout game, like fallout 4)

As for mods, here are the ones to follow:
Fallout Frontier: Open world mod for NV which pits legion and NCR and BOS in a new land. Set to release just around the corner
Fallout Cascadia: A promising F4 mod that takes place in seattle
Fallout 4: New Vegas, a new vegas remake in the fallout 4 engine. Very good progress, and it looks like they're also adding in content that was incomplete/missing from the original game as well. Content for the mod, like weapons and armor, are regularly released on nexus as standalone mods
Fallout: Miami, one I am personally most excited about. It seems to be a more lighthearted take on Fallout 4, with many references to vice city(the entire game map will be laid out exactly like the VC world, with a few exceptions). Many improvements NV made, like the faction system, is coming back, along with the enclave, which you can now side with. Like with F4: NV, some content usually gets released as standalone mods for F4 on nexus
Fallout 4: Capital Wasteland. F3 remake in the same vain as New Vegas project above. Again, some of their content is also released on nexus as stand alone mods(like F3/NV feral ghouls) on semi regular bases. Recently, they released a point lookout teaser, meaning that DLC is also being ported over
What kind of 6th generation games are you playing,I've been playing the Ace Combat 4 and Ace Combat Zero and Zero is right now for me this greatest game in the series.
The gameplay is the best in the series, the Dogfights in this game are also the best compared to other in the series and the story is quite interesting and engaging and the fucking final fight with Pixy is amazing and I love how he screams when you fire the last shot man that was a great fight

What are some decent clones of successful games? Something that's still worth playing if you want more of the same even if it's not put together with the same level of skill and polish. Picrelated for example is mostly a Max Payne clone with a bit more focus on friendly NPCs and bad voice acting.

If you want to test if it works and play offline, open ggpofa-ng.exe go to game>load game>tick 'Show available only' and open the game. Once it's open, F5 to map controls.

You have a throwaway email for fightcade, use it here. If you really don't want to, just tell me to sign you up.

News about 2's development
>sauce (In russian):

GSC Game World about S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 development: «Everything goes as planned, and even faster in some aspects».

>Ukrainian studio GSC Game World, widely known by Cossacks and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series, told us about the changes in the development process during the COVID-19 pandemic. In a recent comment for, PR-manager Zakhar Bocharov explained how the social distancing can possibly affect the development process of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2.

— Is distant work mandatory for all the employees at the moment?

Yes. Everyone from the Kyiv office has been working from home since mid-March, almost from the very beginning of the quarantine in Ukraine. Our top-management was pretty accurate in their estimate of the situation. A few days after this decision, the public places were closed, and the people were recommended to stay home.

— How did this affect working processes?

In general, everything feels the same, and we even have positive dynamics in certain aspects. The game development can be done remotely — there are a lot of freelancers working on every big project. All the mechanisms are out there, but they must be properly scaled to the whole team. It’s just both the technical part and the people that should cope in the process.

— What processes have suffered the most from going online?

They haven’t suffered, but they inevitably changed. Remote work involves a different approach. You need much more attention to details and organization.
So there are more smaller tasks in tracking systems, more online calls between departments and more narrowly-targeted chats. In one of these, for example, we just notify about our AFK-periods – without any other information. It may look funny to look at, but certainly works — no one has yet been «lost» during working hours.

Another serious challenge is the lack of socialization. But let’s be honest, the situation is not so dire in 2020. Video calls can be used not only for work, board games and Dungeon and Dragons can be easily played via the Internet, and Telegram is full of entertainment bots.

You can easily have a smoke or celebrate someone’s birthday remotely. People are adaptive: it can feel a little bit awkward at first, but then there are equal warmth and emotion in the process. Especially when everyone remembers that the quarantine won’t last forever. Five to ten years ago, there would be a billion times more problems with all mentioned above.

Back office staff are our personal heroes now. Any necessary thing from a closed office can be ordered with home delivery, so you don’t have a feeling that you have lost access to something important till the end of the self-isolation. Also, employees receive packages with protective masks, gloves, sanitizers and neat things like tea and chocolates. A sense of comfort helps to cope with background instability.

— Is there a risk that the situation in the world will slow down S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 development? Hideo Kojima had to move the release of Death Stranding on a PC, and we are talking about a mere port here.

And at the same time, Final Fantasy VII Remake comes out on time, and Cyberpunk 2077 still has a September release date. I don’t see a trend here yet. Absolutely all gaming companies find themselves in an equally unexpected situation. For a number of mostly internal reasons, all of them cope in their own specific way.

Speaking specifically about S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, everything goes according to the development plan, and even faster in some aspects.

— Some people say that the current situation is favorable for videogames – without many other ways to entertain themselves, people play and buy games a lot. Is it true?
This point is too logical to fully deny it. We do have the positive dynamics of sales, especially with Cossacks 3.
However, it feels right to evaluate things after they end. We should probably return to the topic after the quarantine.
What ya been playan, /v/?

For me, it's /v/ectorman.
Before Fatchan went down, we had a pretty good Pokemon thread. So I figured it would probably be a good idea to make one again. Want to talk about the recently leaked Gen 1 and 2 source code, and whatever weird shit is found in there? Sure! Want to talk about how TPC's toy shilling marketing scheme schedule doesn't mix well with developing a video game, and how despite obviously caring Game Freak are too incompetent to fit a normal development schedule let alone one like that? Of course! Want to argue if Pokemon has multiple timelines or if it follows more of a "continuity family" structure? Go right ahead! Want to just ask "WPWYF?"? No, don't do that. If you're going to talk about how much you want to dick a fictional monster at least include some emotional content. /monster/ can do it, why can't you fags?
Oh, for the record, here are the source codes I mentioned.

List of "special" threads currently allowed:
>Friday Night
Allowed on Friday; bumplocked on Sunday; deleted somewhere later in the week so we don't have 4 of them littering the catalog by the end of the month.
>webm threads
Keep it vidya, if someone posts a couple of non vidya webms, refer to stipulation b. Also check this shit out >>88
>Draw threads and Japanese learning threads
For the latter, seen how this IB is not on the webring yet, we technically aren't "stealing" anyone's traffic, however I'd still appreciate if you could link our friends at in the OP.
>Gamergate threads
The rules regarding these have not changed: do not, and I repeat, DO NOT use these as meta threads. Do: filter, ignore and report derailment.
>Gacha threads
They are allowed but they must be kept in a single general, no exceptions.
Anything not mentioned in the list above is banned.

There is now a drama containment thread regarding the current situation of the webring here >>1451 use it. Please report any posts about these topics that are derailing other threads.

If needed I can also be contacted privately at this address:

This will also double as a board meta thread, voice complaints, report issues, call jannies cocksuckers, keep drama OUT. And now, without further ceremonies, let's celebrate and suck some dvideo games.
Thread copied to help spark discussion.

If you're looking for a truly autistic experience while the lockdown is happening, come check out my text game. Feel free to use a disposable email, I just have to get your password to you.
It's Hellmoo But Good (tm)
The timeline:
>8kun comes out of the closet as megagay
>fatchan dies a quick and horrible death
>julay decides to suicide but not really it's just a prank the camera's over there bro lol
>except it isn't
>drama ensues
>/v/ on julay also gets nuked
>more drama
>now random IBs are getting reported by (((someone))) for seapea
>something something: MARK
>a drama to kill all drama
>the final drama
>days without drama counter: 0
>the [2]shining beacon of all video game discussion which [3]will also save the west from its corrupt ways, [2]overthrow the ZOG, [3]find a cure for cancer, [1]build a stairway to the stars and [1]establish a 1000 year long interstellar reich of peace and prosperity (sources: [1]anon, [2]dude trust me, [3]my ass) emerges amidst the chaos: zyklonchan!
>(you) are here

Factions involved:
>some namefags
>anons that are in just for the fun
>anons that are in just to see everything we know and love burn to ash
>some friendly and innocent looking people with weird hairstyles and funny hats, I really wonder what's up with those hats haha

Discuss the current happenings involving the webring and whatnot in here and here only. Derail the board meta thread and/or any other threads with this shit and your posts will be deleted on sight.
Going to dump some vidya-related PDFs I've got. If anyone else has some feel free to add them.

Starting with C&C.
You've probably seen this in the other gorillion boards but one anon didn't so here it is. If you want to play with people go to the other threads ( ) or find these names in fightcade

You sword the other samurai until he dies the game is as simple as it gets. Mechanics explained in the thread.
Combos are nonexistent or consist of barely 2-3 moves, if you get hit once you will get hurt hard. If you don't like swordsmen you can pick between demon miko and guy made of fire among other weirdos.

You will need an account, use a throwaway/temporary email.

Sunday 5PM UTC/1PM EDT
Welcome to /v/. These rules are subject to change. In particular, since I offered to give the fat/v/ board owner the board May 13th and he has yet to reply, they might become the fat/v/ rules instead. If he does not accept these are the rules I plan to use.

1. Do not post or link content illegal in the United States.
2. Threads should pertain to video games or game culture. "Board culture" threads are allowed but I might consider adding additional stipulations if they become a problem.
3. You must be 18+ to post.
4. Duplicate threads may be locked or deleted, check the catalog before you post.
5. Spoil NSFW content.
6. Template threads may be locked or deleted. Try to put at least a bit of thought into your threads.

Additional notes:
1. The current reply limit is 500 and the bump limit is 450, as an idea based on fat/v/ to prevent threads rotting in the catalog. This might change based on how people like it. For an ongoing thread you may make a new thread after 450 posts.
2. If you get reported multiple times across multiple threads and your post history is comprised entirely of derailing, shitflinging and generally not contributing to any of the threads you posted in, you may be banned.
3. GG and talking about SJW activity in gaming is allowed.
4. Friday Night threads should only be made on Friday.
5. Offtopic posts are allowed but try not to deliberately derail or to derail into a subject that's just pointless shitflinging. Similarly try to keep meta in the meta thread.
6. Don't spam, dox, or raid. This is defined narrowly, I'm certainly not going to ban you for making fun of a game on another site or emailing complaints to a developer, but if you want to organize spam-flooding another board you can do that elsewhere.
7. Don't namefag or avatarfag unless there is a practical reason for everyone to know who you are.
8. You report using "Show Post Actions" at the bottom.

If you need to contact me you may do so at If you have feedback you may leave it in this thread. For example the reply limit is mostly 500 because that's what fat/v/ had and the bump limit is 450 so old ongoing threads can't be bumped to the top. Would 300 and 500 be better? Something more standard like 400 and 750? 700 and 750 so threads are long but keep bumping to the front page?
Discuss the ongoing situation with imageboards and the various versions of /v/.
Idk anon, it makes no sense to make a designated board for anything if postcount -> 0pph
